shown. The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) has ordered all hospitals
in England and Wales to use it across the board by February 2010. The
checklist, devised by the World Health Organization (WHO), was tested in
eight cities around the globe."

"New research by the Harvard School of Public Health shows that a simple checklist for doctors and nurses can dramatically reduce errors and improve patient health during surgery.
On the checklist, the team is required the make sure they have the right patient and the incision is clearly marked. Also, they must make sure extra blood is on hand for potential problems. And all instruments are accounted for at the end of each surgery."
